We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding career awareness for girls across construction, energy, manufacturing, and maritime industries before career decisions are made. At This One’s for the Gals, we introduce girls to careers they may not otherwise have the opportunity to explore. From skilled trades to STEM and everything in between, we help girls see what’s possible and imagine themselves in careers they may have never considered.

We carry out our mission by partnering with schools, workforce development programs, and industry partners — partnering with schools, workforce organizations, and industry leaders to create meaningful career awareness experiences. By sharing the stories and experiences of women already working in these industries, we help the next generation find inspiration, confidence, and the courage to pursue careers they once thought were out of reach.

where we do it

While we are based in South Texas, our work extends wherever there’s an opportunity to support and inspire girls. From classrooms and career fairs to workshops and industry events, we meet girls where they are and open doors to careers they may have never considered. Whether you’re an industry partner, educator, or community member, we’d love to connect and create meaningful, lasting impact together.

CAREER AWARENESS STARTS EARLY

The A Day in the Life children’s book series by This One’s for the Gals introduces young readers to real careers across construction, energy, manufacturing, maritime, STEM, and skilled trades through stories of women leading across critical industries.

Each book helps students connect classroom learning to real-world workforce pathways and see what’s possible before career decisions are made and purchasing books from this series helps support workforce awareness experiences that introduce students to industry professionals, job sites, and technical career opportunities.

community supporters, This One’s for the Gals provides students

with opportunities to explore careers across construction, energy, manufacturing, maritime, STEM, and skilled trades - connecting classroom learning to real-world pathways through field trips, industry conferences, site visits, and hands-on career exploration experiences that build confidence and expand awareness of what’s possible for their future.
